When you follow a cult leader, it's a bad decision, and right now a number of Republican governors, hoping to please Dear Leader, are rushing to open up businesses well before the pandemic is in check, and it will lead to disastrous results.
I'm not sure if anyone has noticed, but the death toll in the United States as a result of the Covid-19 breakout, is still on the rise, and so are the cases, and President Dumbo's response is to open the nation's businesses before we have this thing under control. Trump can't even decide on a strategy.
On Thursday, Trump said that in order for states to open up to phase one, the state in question would have to have a decline in the number of cases for 14 consecutive days, then the next day he tweets that the governors should liberate their respective states. He can't even make up his mind.
But predictably governors in the Florida's and Georgia's and other Trumpian states, decided to just wing it, and it will cost countless American lives. And make no mistake, Trump will throw Kemp (Georgia) and DeSantis (Florida) under the bus when this fails miserably.
The U.S. suffered over 2,700 deaths again today and in my state we lost another 152 today. And the heroic medical professionals, doctors and nurses on the front lines, who have endured the PTSD of watching people die alone, are warning that this reckless approach could lead to an even more vicious second wave, but the leaders of the Trumpian cult refuse to acknowledge the doctors.
In fact, the cult's rank and file, are now gathering in mass outside of state houses and governor's mansions, shoulder-to-shoulder to voice their displeasure that they have not contracted Covid-19 yet I guess. Of course every one of these protests will lead to outbreaks in those states. Some of these people in two to three weeks will be fighting for their lives on a ventilator. Let's pray for them.
The great tragedy in this is that all the work done by so many Americans to bend the curve could be so quickly undone by these yahoos protesting at the statehouses.
